How much does an online store cost?

Real 2026 ranges, what makes a project expensive and how to request a serious quote

Updated: October 2026

Anyone who quotes you a price without asking questions is misleading you. That said, after more than 300 projects we can give you honest ranges so you can place your own project — and spot out-of-market quotes, high or low.

Price ranges in 2026

Simple B2C store

Shopify or PrestaShop

€5,000 – €20,000

Simple catalog, design on a premium theme, standard payments and shipping, no complex integrations.

Custom B2C eCommerce

PrestaShop or Magento

€20,000 – €50,000

Own design, custom functionality, a first integration (ERP or logistics) and data migration.

Integrated B2B portal

Magento (Adobe Commerce)

€40,000 – €120,000

Per-customer pricing and catalogs, recurring orders, bidirectional ERP integration, approval flows.

Platform migration

Depends on origin and target

€15,000 – €60,000

Preserving SEO, customers and order history. Cost depends more on data and integrations than on the platform.

Add the cost of operating: maintenance and support (from €300-500/month for a simple store to several thousand for a critical B2B), specialized hosting, and licenses or fees if the platform is SaaS. A store without a maintenance budget degrades within a year: security, speed and conversion.

What makes a project more (or less) expensive

Integrations

Connecting the ERP (SAP, Business Central, Holded), PIM or logistics moves the budget most — and returns most: it removes daily admin work.

The catalog

200 simple SKUs is not the same as 30,000 with variants, per-customer price lists and multi-warehouse stock. Catalog structure drives platform and hours.

Design

A well-adapted premium theme costs a fraction of a fully custom design. For most SMBs, professional theme adaptation is the best cost-to-result ratio.

Data migration

Customers, order history, inherited SEO: migrating well takes analysis and testing hours. Migrating badly costs far more afterwards.

How to request a quote that is actually useful

  • Describe the business, not the website: who you sell to, how many SKUs, which systems you use (ERP, PIM) and which process you want to get rid of.
  • Ask for the breakdown: design, development, integrations, data migration and training itemized. A single figure hides cuts.
  • Ask about the day after: what maintenance includes, the support SLA, and the cost of evolving the store.
  • Distrust the extremes: neither half the market price nor double it usually has a technical justification.

Still unsure which platform fits you? Start with our Magento vs PrestaShop vs Shopify comparison — cost depends on that decision more than on any other.
